About Me

My Story

An artist, chef, musician, and builder, Kurt is a true Renaissance man, jack of many self-taught  trades, and master of all. After a successful career in the musical industry, with an endorsement via Gibson Guitars Custom Shop, being signed with Columbia Records, touring and playing with the likes of Gov't Mule and Emmylou Harris and some of the world’s best hired guns, Curtis Burch, Byron House, Kyle Whalum, among many others….he played esteemed haunts of Nashville and beyond, including the famed Bluebird Cafe at 14, a little thing called Bonnaroo, at 18, while being represented by Stephani Scamardo and Tom Zutaut.

Kurt moved into a culinary career by way of historic restoration, where he met his wife, Sarah, and they created an island aesthetic materialized into four restaurants over ten years, at the helm as Executive Chef/owner receiving many national accolades while collaborating on many food and wine festivals alongside James Beard Nominees and Winners, such as Steven Satterfield, Mashama Bailey, Alon Shaya, Ashley Christensen, Katie Button, and was Tori McPhail’s chosen guy to pull off his memorable Rehearsal Dinner...as well as hosting a revolving door of Hollywood elites at their Tybee Island restaurants like Sir Michael Cane, Miley Cirus, Adam Sandler, Octavia Spencer, Beau Flynn, and on and on...

What Am I Doing Now?

With his wife as his muse, he's managed to morph artwork now into a career, selling pieces on commission, creating artwork for Seamus Wine labels: Debutante Rosé, Shannon Sauvignon Blanc, and being collected by the likes of India Hicks, as well as collaborating over the years with selected Parisian artist, Anthony Palliser. His female portraiture is his ethos--his modus operandi--and it's evident in the way his art has evolved into new ground-breaking methods. His creative energy for life, striving to always learn more, is evident in every piece.
